Consistency- what does that look like to you? Being there for loved ones when they need you. Waking up and going to work every day. Setting a schedule to pick and drop off your kids. Eating at certain hours of the day. Watching tv or Netflix in the evening. These are all learnt behaviours. From a young age we are taught consistency. Getting up and going to school, having extra curricular activities, eating breakfast/lunch/dinner or having a friend over every Friday night. These are all things we grew up benefitting from. It provides repetition in our environments, relationships and interactions that strengthen the connection in our brain. If we make work life, families schedules, laying on the couch consistent parts of our routine we should make the connection with ourselves the strongest! Learning your body, loving it, and nourishing it is something that takes years of consistent practice and effort. Results do not happen over night! Just as having a solid relationship with your partner or best friend takes more than one night/ week/ year to flourish; it takes a lifetime. So does your mindset and body. Working out is the best way to release endorphins (really feel your BEST) and connect with yourself to truly see what amazing things you are capable of. Writing down a schedule and sticking to it is very beneficial. Just as you have meetings at work you would not be able to opt out of, the meeting with yourself is the most important! Not to mention- consistency over years is what will get you the results you are looking for. BE PRESENT. BE CONSISTENT. BELIEVE in yourself.
